Haruharu Mask Packs

I received these Haruharu Masks from www.jolse.com two weeks ago and have gotten around to using all of them. I received these masks for free, but all thoughts are my own, as usual. I am absolutely in love with the packaging of the product. My favorite is the one with the woman catching her lover or bf kissing another woman as she stands outside his car. And then there's the one with her trying to drown him? So freaky. I love it.

The design on the packages are meant to look like an instafeed, with likes and everything. There are 4 typs of haruharu mask packs focusing on lifting, moisturizing, soothing, and revitalizing respectively. It contains fermented horse fat, so if you're iffy about that, these aren't the masks for you. The fermented horse fat is supposed to be similar to human skin and maximizes effects and lower surface tension, allowing better absorption and nourishment. Each package contains 25g of essence and the sheet mask materials differ from mask to mask. The Moisturizing mask is cupra fabric, Lifting Mask and Vitality Masks are tencel, and Soothing mask uses bamboo fabric.

The masks are available individually for $2.55 each and $25.50 for a pack of ten.

Haruharu Lifting Mask

I haven't a clue what's happening on the packaging of this one, but it just brings a smile to my face. This mild and smooth mask is supposed to transform skin into mochi. XD It contains extract of collagen and mixed friends in addition to patented fruit mix and collagen extract that is supposed to manage luxterless skin into tight and glutinous skin. I had high hopes for this mask seeing as it's the first Haruharu mask I've tried.

Ingredients and Texture

Ingredients on Cosdna: Water, Glycereth-26, Glycerin, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Niacinamide, Methylpropanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Xanthan Gum, Butylene Glycol, Boswellia Serrata Resin Extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Beta-Glucan, Ethylhexylglycerin, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Centella Asiatica Extract, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Panthenol, Trehalose, Betaine, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit Extract, Morus Alba Fruit Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Nut Extract, Carbomer, Allantoin, Arginine, Disodium EDTA, Adenosine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Fragrance, Candida Bombicola/Glucose/Methyl Rapeseedate Ferment, Horse Fat

It doesn't look like that's anything particularly worrying in the mask and cosdna results doesn't come up with anything above a 3 other than the fragrance. Notable ingredients include fermented horse fat, niacinamide (brightening), sodium hyaluronate (hydrating), willow extract (mild excoliation), centella extract (anti-aging), and Hydrolyzed collagen & fruit mix (tightening and moisturizing).

The mask material is tencel, which I'm a really big fan of. I prefer tencel masks to cotton masks any day. It adheres to my skin better and just absorbs essence better, allowing the liquid to stay on my skin instead of all over my body. The scent on this mask is fairly heavy though and doesn't go away upon application, which is slightly annoying. Smells something like baby lotion and honey? I can't really pinpoint the scent but it's the reason why I took this off after 30 minutes.

Performance

There's 25g of the product in the package and like I said, it adhered well to the tencel fabric and thus to my skin. The essence is really slimy and somewhat sticky. Unfortunately, the stickiness remained after 20-30 minutes of application and after half hour after I took it off. T.T I splashed some water on my face to get rid of that sensation. My face was moderately brightening and slightly moisturized but there wasn't anything particularly fabulous about this. My acne spots were still red and inflammed and the lines under my eyes were still there.

After a few hours, the sheet mask actually managed to create three painful new pimples on the right side of my face, which is really obvious since all my pimples are usually on the left side of my face. :( That's actually really tragic, but yay for me not having to buy these masks?
